North Herts College
Chapco were approached by North Herts College in May 2007 to carry out a feasibility study on 3 semi derelict industrial units near the Town Centre in Stevenage with a view to converting them into a vocational skills training centre. The recommendation initially coming from a similar project carried out in Liverpool on Behalf of Carter and Carter group Plc.
From a virtual blank canvas and minimal brief Chapco developed, using only known and Trusted Partners, a Client wish list, a specialist equipment requirement and turned this into a base specification and Projected cost model.
In October 2007 North Herts were awarded further funding to develop the outline plans into a “real time project”. The Contract was awarded on a Design and Build basis and started on site January 2008 with a projected program of 18 weeks which included major dilapidation works.
